Description

D'Addario Protect is a liquid wax made with Brazilian carnauba that seals and protects the finish on clear-coated guitars, basses, ukuleles, mandolins and banjos, leaving a deep, glossy shine. It's step 2 of D'Addario's three-step guitar care system.

Our take
A liquid wax is much quicker to use than a paste, so it's easy to keep up. Clean the finish first with D'Addario Restore polish (step 1), then use Protect to lock in the shine.

How to use

  • Apply a small amount to a clean, soft cloth
  • Spread a thin, even coat over the finish
  • Buff to a shine with a clean side of the cloth

  • Vintage nitro finish? D'Addario says it's safe, but test a small spot on the back first.
  • Satin or matte finish? Wax adds shine, so skip it on finishes you want to keep flat.
