This is a used Martin 000RS1 in very good condition. It's an all-solid sapele acoustic-electric from Martin's Road Series, with a comfortable 000 (auditorium) body, a Fishman Sonitone pickup, and a hardshell case included.

Our take
Sapele is a close cousin of mahogany: warm, woody and focused, with a strong midrange that sits nicely under a voice. Because the top, back and sides are all solid wood, a guitar that's already been played tends to sound more open than a new one. The 000 size is a great pick if a dreadnought feels too big. Good to know

• Is sapele like mahogany? Very close. It's warm and woody like mahogany, with a little more clarity and sparkle.
• 000 or dreadnought? A 000 is smaller and more comfortable, and better balanced for fingerstyle. A dreadnought has more bass and volume for hard strumming.
• What powers the pickup? A 9V battery in a pouch inside the body. It's only used when you're plugged in.
• Which strings? Any 6-string acoustic set. Light gauge suits this guitar well. Use our String Finder or ask us to restring and set it up.
