Description
The Yamaha TAG3 C is an all-solid dreadnought acoustic guitar with effects built right into the body. Reverb, chorus and delay come out of the guitar itself, with no amp, pedals or cables, and a built-in looper and Bluetooth audio turn it into a complete practice and songwriting setup. Plug it in and it works as a regular acoustic-electric on stage.
Our take
This is the guitar for players who want effects without the gear: songwriters, couch players and anyone who likes to loop an idea and play over it. With the effects off, it's still a serious acoustic, with a solid Sitka spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides. Prefer a smaller, more comfortable body? Key features
- Effects that play through the body. Two actuators inside the guitar vibrate the top, so reverb, chorus and delay sound from the guitar itself, with no amp needed.
- Built-in looper with tap sensor. Record a part, or tap a beat on the top, then play over it. The app saves up to 10 loop phrases.
- Bluetooth audio. Stream songs from your phone through the guitar body and play along.
- All-solid woods. Solid Sitka spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides, ebony fingerboard and bridge.
- Rechargeable battery. Up to 5.5 hours of play, with a magnetic charging connection. No 9V batteries.
- TAG Remote app (iOS and Android). Fine-tune the effects and manage loops from your phone.

Good to know
- Do I need an amp? No. The effects come out of the guitar body. Plug into an amp or PA only when you need more volume.
- Does it work as a normal acoustic? Yes. With the effects off, it's an all-solid acoustic guitar, and it doesn't need a charge to play acoustically.
- TAG3 C or TAS3 C? Same features. The TAG3 C is a full-size dreadnought for a bigger, stronger strum; the TAS3 C is a smaller concert body that's more comfortable for many players.
- Which strings? It ships with Elixir Nanoweb 80/20 Bronze lights. Use our String Finder or ask us to restring and set it up.
